English Internship Opportunities
Ready for real editorial and publishing experience? We'll help you gain industry ready skills and connect you to local resources.

MCLA's English Department regularly partners with regional publishers, arts organizations, businesses, news outlets and municipal offices, enabling our majors to apply and expand their academic skill sets in work-place environments. Students earn upper-level academic credits in the process and each student receives support from a faculty sponsor and a worksite supervisor to ensure the experience is meaningful.
A few of the organizations where our English majors have recently conducted successful internships:
Tupelo Press
New Europe Books
Barrington Stage Company
Full Stop Literary Journal
The Berkshire Eagle
Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival
Herman Melville's Arrowhead
The Berkshire Historical Society

"The internship gave me the opportunity to practice my research skills, learn the basic tenets of business writing, and generate fundraising and marketing strategies. Interning at Tupelo was an immersive exploration of the inner workings of independent literary presses. I’ve cultivated administrative, technical, and literary skills that will serve me in the professional world."
